Materna Requiem

Breath Collective presents the regional premiere of Rebecca Dale's Materna Requiem

Composed for choir and orchestra, this 45-minute masterwork is a cathartic exploration of the love between a parent and child, mortality, and grief. Rebecca wrote this piece as a tribute to her mother who died from breast cancer in 2010. Internationally-renowned soloists Frederick Ballentine and Alexandra Schoeny will perform alongside Breath Collective's professional choral ensemble, The Union, and a choir and orchestra of student artists from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Conductor Trevor Kroeger will lead a pre-concert talk about the piece at 7:00 PM.

Breath Collective is honored to present this concert in collaboration with the Karen Wellington Foundation, which is dedicated to providing pleasure and fun to women living with cancer.

By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video or audio recording taken by Breath Collective or the person or entity designated to do so by Breath Collective. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability and release before entering the event.
