Cobblestone Arts Center and the Cobblestone Community Players invite you to step into the savage, hilarious hierarchy of high school with this high-energy musical smash.
The Show:
Direct from Broadway and based on the iconic 2004 film written by Tina Fey, Mean Girls follows Cady Heron, a homeschooled newcomer who finds herself thrust into the wilds of suburban Illinois high school life. To fit in, Cady makes the bold move of infiltrating "The Plastics," a trio of popular but feared frenemies ruled by the ruthless Regina George. But when Cady devises a plan to end Regina's reign once and for all, she discovers the hard way that you can't cross an apex predator without getting clawed.
Fueled by a bold, contemporary score — including standout numbers like "Someone Gets Hurt," "I'd Rather Be Me," and the showstopping "World Burn" — Mean Girls is as sharp and funny as it is unexpectedly moving. Packed with powerhouse vocals, razor-sharp wit, and dazzling dance numbers, this fiercely funny production is an anthem to friendship, authenticity, and what it truly means to belong. And yes, you can absolutely wear pink.
Mean Girls is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are supplied by MTI. This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Auburn Public Theater.
