Maimouna Keita School of African Dance will host its 34th annual conference and concert April 3 – April 5 2026. The Dance, Music, and History Classes will be taught at the Mark Morris Dance Group Studios and the annual concert be held at New City College of Technology both in downtown Brooklyn, New York City
The three day conference will host dance teachers, from Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Nigeria and the United States. The instructors will provide detailed instruction in traditional dance, accompanied by live musicians. The classes will be enhanced with intermittent infusions of songs, stories, costumes, demonstrations of traditional musical instrumentation, and historical background of cultural relevance of the original regions of the dances. In addition, the Maimouna Keita School of African Dance Performing Company will entertain, educate, and engage audiences with a hallmark performance, guaranteed to enthrall viewers.
