How Can Beauty Save The World? is the theme for the SC Orthodox Christian Foundation's 2023 Conference, to be held on Saturday, November 11 at the Little River Multicultural Center in Hodges, SC, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public.
The keynote address will be given by Fr. Stephen Freeman, noted speaker and host of the popular podcast Glory to God for All Things, as well as author of two books: Everywhere Present, and Face to Face: Knowing God Beyond Our Shame.
The event will feature a concert of Orthodox choral music, and a presentation on the beauty of icons by distinguished iconographer Seraphim O'Keefe, as well as additional presentations by Fr. Marcus Burch, Fr. Gregory Rogers, and Fr. Ignatius Green. After a panel discussion and question/answer session with all presenters, the event will conclude with a service of Great Vespers, a beautiful and ancient Christian liturgy of prayer and worship.
An all-you-can-eat lunch will be catered by Southern Soul Catering and BBQ in Greenwood, SC. Veterans and speakers/choir attend and dine for free. Ticket prices include lunch, dessert, and coffee/tea. Tax deductible donations are also encouraged to help the foundation cover conference costs.
