About this event

Attend a painting workshop with world-renowned artist, Stephen Bennett. You will paint a tile for a mosaic community mural that will hang on the PAVE building for several decades to come!

The Phoenix Building in Beaver Dam is PAVE’s new home for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. We hope the colorful phoenix symbol of the victorious creature rising from ashes will be a symbol of hope and healing for all the survivors we encounter.

A number of Reserved Tickets will be held for guests of PAVE so that no one who wants to contribute to the mural is turned away for inability to purchase a ticket.  Sponsorships for tickets can also be purchased if you are unable to participate but want to share this opportunity with others.

What to Expect: Stephen Bennett will be instructing all learners 3-7pm.  You do not need to stay the full 4 hours but please allow at least 1 hour for painting once you've received your tile and instructions.  You won't want to rush your artistic experience!

All ages and abilities are welcome.  We will be in the "art studio" in the basement of our building- with elevator access as needed.  The painting project is designed like a "paint by number" and you may choose level of difficulty based on your artistic experience and capability.

The big question.....may you reserve/paint more than one tile? Yes! Please allow enough time during the workshop for this, as we do want to finish and clean up the studio at 7pm.

The next question.....will there be another workshop/painting date if you're not free on August 8? Maybe.....we will see how many tiles are left and schedule a second date in August or September if needed.  We encourage attendance on August 8 so you are guaranteed not to miss contributing to one (or more) of the 121 tiles.  This is a fixed number.  Once the mosaic is complete, there will be no add-ons.

Tickets may be transferred to alternative painters for August 8 but not transferred to future dates.
