About this event

Join the Palestinian Youth Movement on Friday, February 21st, for a screening of The Last Sky, the third in our February Film Series. This newly updated 2025 version has yet to be seen, offering fresh insight into the film’s powerful narrative. As we enter the second-to-last week of our series, we gather once again to engage with a film that speaks to our struggle for liberation and the urgency of the present moment.

Filmed in 2004 and 2024, The Last Sky sheds light on the often-overlooked experiences of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, while also drawing from the director’s personal journey in the region over the past 20 years. The film offers a perspective largely absent from mainstream media since October 7, compelling viewers to confront the realities of occupation, the necessity of resistance, and the steadfastness of Palestinians in their fight for return and liberation. It also examines Israel’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon and its direct connection to the genocide in Gaza.

Join us for our third screening of The Last Sky—directed by Nicholas Hanna, a Lebanese-Australian lawyer, and produced by Rihab Charida, a Palestinian media producer and filmmaker based in Beirut. The screening will be followed with a Q&A session with the director, Nicholas Hanna.
