Join us for lunch and an exhibit about Frenchtown history to support the work of the Frenchtown Historical Foundation.
Lunch will be a baked potato and salad bar lunch with dessert, coffee, and a brief presentation. At 2 pm we will caravan to the Sheehan Gallery on the Whitman College campus for a guided tour of the exhibit “Picturing Family : Métis Life in the Walla Walla Valley”, featuring historical information about the fur trade, the allotment era, the boarding schools, and archives, along with family photos and artwork from the Lavadour, Pambrun, Picard, and Duffy families. The 252 featured photos in the exhibit also include individuals from the following families : Morrisette, Sams, Bergevin, McBean, LaCourse, Bellinger, Rondeau, Sears, Gagnon, Murray, McGinnis, Martin, Farrow, Chalifoux, Handron, Vincent, Carson, and Bonifer, and many others.
