About this event

ROGER SAYER was involved in the development of the organ score as it was being
recorded, and is now performing a score taken from the original soundtrack,
originally created for Interstellar Live at the Royal Albert Hall.
In 2014, Roger received a call from Hans Zimmer, the composer of the film music
for Interstellar, asking if he, and the organ of Temple Church, would be involved
with the recording of the organ part for the soundtrack of the film Interstellar.
This has been one of the most productive collaborations of Roger’s musical
career, and as it is now coming up to the 10th anniversary, Roger is delighted to be
performing the score to audiences around the world.
Many organists are now playing this music, but as the organist involved in its
original creation, Roger is delighted to be able to share this unique score with
audiences.
The event was given this name to mark the 10th anniversary of the film and the
date of release in 2014 across the world was late October/early November. The
launch took place in January 2024 at St. Johns Smith Square, London, where Mr.
Sayer is now Organist-in-Residence. Since then, Interstellar 10 has been on tour
around the world. It is a great opportunity for the audience not only to be able to
hear such epic score in person, and also to have a conversation with THE
INTERSTELLAR ORGANIST himself!

INTERSTELLA 10 program will include the following pieces:

• Sprach Zarathustra – Sunrise Strauss
• Planets Suite: Mars, Venus, Jupiter Holst
• Video: Hans Zimmer at Temple Church
• Interview with Roger Sayer
Interval

• Interstellar arr. Sayer
• Conversation with audience members
