Routes to Our Roots: A Literacy Journey of Flagstaff's Migrant History

Join us for an afternoon celebrating the people, cultures, and journeys that have shaped Flagstaff and Northern Arizona. Through local authors, historians, and community voices, we’ll explore the many routes that brought people here and the stories that continue to shape the place we call home.

Enjoy food, drinks, and meaningful conversation while supporting The Literacy Center’s Immigration Legal Services Program (NAILS) and Adult & Children Literacy Programs. Proceeds from this event help provide immigration legal services and literacy opportunities for people in our community as they build their futures and write the next chapters of their own stories.

We will also be showing the AZ PBS Film, "Tested", which features our Civics & Citizenship Class and an interview with our Immigration Legal Servcies Program Director. Get involved with the launch of our Flagstaff Oral History Project! Tell the story of how you and your family came to Flagstaff  learn about our new Mobile Recording Booth. We would love for your story to be included in our upcoming Flagstaff oral history book!
