Sacred Sound Practice for Challenging Times. with Kavita Kat Macmillan
Saturday May 30th : 1:30- 3pm
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Corvallis 2945 NW Circle Blvd.
$33 reserved / $40 day of
There is no doubt these are challenging times. It can feel overwhelming attempting to keep our mind positive when there is so much that seems completely out of balance. The dense energetics created by fear, doubt and anxiety are tricky to deal with in the mind and body as they drag us down regardless of what 'mindset' we try to enact.
Working with Sound and music we can discover an accessible path to help create some ease. Because sound is able to move through substances - walls, air, our bodies (for example) it is uniquely designed to help shift our vibration and assist us in finding a more nuetral place inside. Singing as a way to support our emotional and mental state is not a new idea but instead has been used for millenia in spiritual and cultural situations to assist with all periods of life from birth and ceremony to work, celebration and even the realities of death and dying.
In this experiencial workshop participants will get a taste of the tools of Sacred sound to :
~ Use your voice to help with anxiety and stress
~ Connect with the vibrations of mantra and learn about the practice of Kirtan
~ Sing with others in a kind, no-judgemental space
~ Explore tools that help to sing with more joy and ease
ALL are welcome, no experience necessary.
