About this event
From pioneering the one-woman show to portraying one of television’s first openly bisexual characters on “Roseanne,” Sandra Bernhard’s never shied away from the spotlight. The actor, comedian and singer has proudly broken barriers for fellow LGBTQ artists for decades. She’ll bring her unique mix of cabaret, stand-up, rock-n-roll and social commentary to a live stage performance at Woodlawn Pointe Auditorium and proceeds will benefit Fiesta Youth Young Adult Programming and Scholarships. This is her only South Texas performance. So, get your tickets early as this will be a sellout. Limited number of Meet and Greet tickets are available. Cash bar will be provided and benefits Woodlawn Pointe Community Center and Living Positive San Antonio.
About Sandra: Performer, actress, singer and author Sandra Bernhard now appears as a series regular in season three of the immensely popular FX Television/Ryan Murphy show “POSE” reprising her role as brassy but caring Nurse Judy Kubrak, who works with H.I.V./AIDS patients. Bernhard has also done a special guest appearance on Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story: Apocalypse”, highlighting a successful, decades long television career. She is also currently in her fifth year hosting her weekly radio show Sandyland on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy channel 102, for which she won a broadcasting Gracie Award.
About Fiesta Youth - Fiesta Youth’s mission is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, affirming place for LGBTQ young people to express and explore who they are through education, peer-support, advocacy, and friendship in the San Antonio community and beyond. We provide that thru our weekly programming with youth and young adults 12 to 22 years of age.
