Summer Suhba: Foundations of the Prophetic Way
August 14–16, 2026 | The Majlis OC | Laguna Hills, California
Join us for Summer Suhba, a weekend gathering of learning, reflection, and companionship centered on the foundations of the Prophetic way ﷺ.
Led by Shaykha Muslema Purmul, Shaykh Jamaal Diwan, Shaykh Fouad Elgohari, and Imam Jihad Saafir, the sessions will explore seven qualities described by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī as “the foundation of this path and of every good”: striving, tawakkul, good character, gratitude, patience, contentment, and truthfulness.
Together, we will reflect on how these qualities refine the heart, shape our character, and help us live with greater sincerity, steadiness, and nearness to Allah.
Participants will benefit from:
Daily lessons rooted in Islamic knowledge
Suhba and interactive group sessions
A welcoming environment for individuals and families
Children’s programming during main sessions
Program Timing
The retreat will begin on Friday, August 14th with dinner at The Majlis. Official program will begin 6:30 pm.
The retreat will conclude with a closing session at The Majlis, Sunday, August 16th around 4pm.
