Joe Walsh and Matt Flinner - Canceled

Joe K. Walsh (mandolin) and Matt Flinner (mandolin) will play a concert of "music" in a Woods Hole living room on Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 PM.

Ticket holders will be informed of the concert's Woods Hole location and other important information by email about 24h before the show.

Walsh and Flinner recent gig at The Music Emporium in Lexington, described the duo as, "masters of tone, taste, and tunecraft." It called them, "two of the most lauded names in the new-acoustic landscape."

As to genre, I can't be much more specific than, "music." They'll play some bluegrass-type tunes, for sure. Here's one example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD4ndHS4BfQ. They might throw in a Broadway standard, or a Brazilian choro, or a Monk composition. They're known for writing new tunes before each show, and working them up with high-wire arrangements. They're no stranger to the music of Dvorak, Mozart and Mahler. So bring your biggest ears - this is gonna be fun!

He's played with approximately everybody, like David Grier, Todd Phillips, Tim O’Brien, Frank Vignola, Steve Martin, Darrell Scott, the Modern Mandolin Quartet, Dave Douglas, Leftover Salmon, Alison Brown, The Ying Quartet, Tony Trischka, Darol Anger, and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. To name a few.

Joe K. Walsh was hailed by David Grisman as, "a wonderful mandolin player," and by Darol Anger as, "one of the best mandolinists I've ever played with." Joe co-founded the band "Joy Kills Sorrow," and he currently plays with Mister Sun alongside Darol Anger, Grant Gordy and Aidan O'Donnell. He, too has played with almost everybody, most notably Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck, Ricky Skaggs, Jonathan Edwards, John Mailander, Bruce Molsky and Courtney Hartman. He's an Associate Professor of Mandolin at Berklee Schjool of Music. He's been performing in Woods Hole since at least 2016.
