About this event

This event is a conference sponsored by the So CA Tri-Counties Branch of IDA. It's focus is helping students who struggle with literacy, especially dyslexia. We will have 3 speakers. Dr. Judith Gollette will present Dyslexia 101; Dr.Monica Gordon Pershey will present Embedding Executive Function & Language in Structured Literacy: Who, What, How, and Why; and Dr. Christa Pereira will present Using Neuroscience to Explore Cognitive Strengths in Dyslexia.  Your registration fee will include lunch and there will be morning and afternoon snacks. 

We are selling EARLY BIRD tickets from now until August 17th.  There is a $10 discount for these. There is also another $10 discount if you are a member of IDA.  EARLY BIRD tickets are $60 for IDA members and $70 for non-IDA members.  You may join IDA to take advantage of the member discount.  The link is https://socal.dyslexiaida.org/about-us/membership/. People who want to sign up on September 7th, but there is an extra $10 charge for this.

We will provide handouts appropriate to each speaker and will highlight Structured Literacy information. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the conference. We will start at 9:00 with check-in and the conference sessions starts at 10:00 and last until 4:30.

When you arrive at Temple Beth El, go to the back side (by the parking lot) and enter through the back door. We will be in the Social Hall.

INFORMATION FOR EXHIBITORS:

Hello to our exhibitors!  We are delighted that you will be joining us at our Fall Conference on September 7th. The first day (Sep[tember 7th), you will have an opportunity to introduce yourself and tell what type of materials and services you have available.  The times for participants to talk with exhibitors will be during the sign-in session (from 9:00 until 10:00), your introductions will be at 11:30 am, There is a 20 minute break at 11:40, lunch is at noon, and there is an PM break at 2:15 pm.

We are holding our exhibitors to five only so that the participants have more opportunity to visit each of them.
