Have you ever wondered what it would be like to seek wisdom from a spiritual master—someone who left the body millennia ago? Following a near-death experience, Hendersonville author and psychologist Jim Nourse was led to engage his spiritual imagination after sensing an invisible, yet inviting presence. Conversations with Jeshua started when Jim began listening to and writing down what the presence and his imagination revealed in his hospital room. As he journaled, Jim asked the presence its name, and the reply was immediate: Jeshua, which proved very fitting. The conversations continued during and after his recovery.

Here's a sample from a conversation between Dr. Nourse and Jeshua regarding Jim’s attraction to Buddhism and Christianity, when he questioned the need to choose one religious path to the exclusion of others:

I am transported to a state of formlessness where [Jeshua and I] are radiant presences in a vast field of Consciousness. I don’t know how I know this, but it is clear to me that this field is involved in the orchestration of experiences and the settings in which they occur. It is also clear that the range of this field transcends space and time but can create expressions that are spatial and temporal. The field is the underlying, unifying essence that reaches into me. I feel Jeshua in close proximity. My friend, he says, This is the One River. This is the River beneath the River. You have concerns that you are over-extended, that you need to choose one tributary or the other and focus in. Relax. Just simply, relax. Your current conditions might lead you to one particular refuge and urge you to lay another aside for a time. It is all the One River. What good fortune, what excellent ripening of karmic conditions that you have such excellent choices! There is no problem here.

Jim has been sharing these conversations with a small circle of acquaintances and is now ready to share them with a wider audience. Each session will meet at The Depot, 390 Railroad Avenue, Brevard, N.C. 28712 (Jimmy Harris Railroad Depot Park). In-person attendance will be limited to 40 people (first come, first served). Currently, we are exploring the possibility of virtual attendance for this event, and will post additional information starting Feb. 15.

Dr. Jim Nourse is a clinical psychologist, acupuncturist, and author of two books: Simple Spirituality: Finding Your Own Way and Opening the Aloha Mind. Jim refers to his present work as "spiritual mentoring," helping people explore, clarify and if necessary heal the spiritual aspect of their lives.

Two kinds of registration are available: Basic Admission at $59 per person and Admissions Plus at $99 per person. Basic Admission covers only the cost of this event, while Admissions Plus helps underwrite the cost of this and other programs for those who might not otherwise be able to attend.
