Dreams Across Generations: Will the Psyche be Unbroken?

How does Dreamwork connect people throughout our lifespans?

On Thursday, February 20 at 7:00 PM. Eastern, Center for Spiritual Wisdom will host its monthly discussion series called A Little About A Lot. The February installment is entitled "Dreams Across the Generations: Will the Psyche Be Unbroken?", facilitated by Vance Reese. We will convene on Zoom from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

All of us have dreams, yet our relationship with our Psyches and the Collective Conscious and Unconscious change over our lifespans. Vance Reese has facilitated several student dream groups in classes at Brevard College over the past seven years. These have a different “feel” to adult dream groups where the constituents are in their second or third part of life, a time when Carl Jung and others suggested that the inner work can really begin.

Can that work begin earlier, though? Vance will be joined by Margaret Brown, a colleague who accompanied two student groups to Kanuga for two of the Haden Dream Intensives. We will share what we learned. Vance and Margaret will also be joined by a few other students and former students under 30 who will enter the dialogue sharing what their experiences were in their times in dream group work. Jeremy Taylor bridged (perceived) racial barriers with dream work in the 1960s. Can (perceived) generational barriers be bridged through dream work together?

A Little About A Lot engages the community in discussions around social, religious, and spiritual interests using curated short-format content including podcasts, web posts, short books, and videos. There is no fee to participate in this two-hour discussion. However, donations to Center for Spiritual Wisdom will be gratefully accepted. A suggested donation of $8 or more will help support this and similar events.

Vance Reese has a Doctor of Music from Indiana University and a certificate in Dream Work Training from the Haden Institute in Flat Rock, N.C. He is on the music faculty at Brevard College, and has facilitated group dream work for several years. Vance and his wife Jean are members of the Brevard Jewish Community.
