Abbie Thomas & The Crazy Hearts Return to the Box Factory
on August 15 for a Magically Musical Night!

The Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St., presents Abbie Thomas & The Crazy Hearts on Saturday, August 15 from 7-9PM. Abbie Thomas, a genre-bending singer-songwriter earning international attention, is joined by pianist/musical director Simon Kauffman Hurst, bassist Isaac Fisher, and drummer Arthur Schroeder of her group The Crazy Hearts. Abbie Thomas & The Crazy Hearts will bring a night of soulful music to the Box Factory stage, with the warmth of 70s-era songwriting and hints of Blues and Jazz.

Fresh off five major independent music awards across Artist, Vocalist, and Song of the Year categories, Abbie Thomas is known for her lyricism, vocal delivery, and emotionally expansive live performances. Her work has been recognized by the Josie Music Awards and the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, and she was nominated alongside Olivia Rodrigo at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for Best Live Filmed Concert. Thomas continues to rise as one of the most compelling independent voices touring today.

Thomas is known for writing lyrics that feel lived-in and cinematic—songs that meet listeners in road-trip revelations, wine-soaked  rainstorms, and the quiet moments where we search for truth, courage, or closure. Her storytelling balances emotional weight with wry humor and hope, touching on life, death, love, politics, sexism,  and class without ever losing its humanity. 

Influenced by Carole King, Lauryn Hill, Ray Charles, and film composer Rachel Portman, Thomas has a rare ability to read a room and shape the experience in real time. Audiences might encounter a pin drop-quiet piano ballad in an intimate listening room, a soulful, head-nodding groove in a late-night  piano bar, or a full-band, jam-forward retro-soul anthem with her group, The Crazy Hearts. The range is vast, but the through-line is unmistakable: powerful songwriting, emotional honesty, and performances that foster genuine connection.
