The Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St., presents Dame & Denise: Together Again for the First Time starring Denise McGowan Tracy and Elaine Dame as they come together for a night of celebration and song on Saturday, August 1 from 7-9PM. Join us for an intimate evening of timeless standards, storytelling, and joyful musical camaraderie; blending jazz, cabaret, and theatrical flair as these two seasoned performers share musical moments, accompanied by pianist Jeremy Kahn, in a program designed to delight longtime fans and new listeners alike.

Denise McGowan Tracy returns to the Box Factory following her 2025 sold out show, Try & Stop Me, bringing decades of entertainment and event experience to the stage. With a resume including Ice Follies/Holiday on Ice and Talent Coordinator for Chicago’s Byfield’s nightclub—where she launched a path leading to the creation and hosting of Monday Night Live at Petterino’s, Denise’s musical prowess is evident when she takes the stage. Having worked as Director of Entertainment at Navy Pier, and with experience directing high-profile events through her company DMT Entertainment & Events, she is simultaneously an accomplished performer and professional, and in 2019, she expanded into playwriting with the Chicago premiere of Eleanor’s Very Merry Christmas Wish—The Musical, which received critical praise.

Stevensville native Elaine Dame returns home to SW Michigan and the Box Factory. Elaine Dame is a commanding vocalist celebrated nationwide—when she sings, people stop and listen. Hailed as “a jazz dynamo” by Time Out Chicago and recognized as “a gem in the city’s vocal jazz scene,” Elaine has graced premier stages from coast to coast. She’s performed at New York City’s Rainbow Room and 54 Below, has headlined at the Chicago Jazz Festival in 2015 and 2025, and has a standout engagement at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Jazz Grill in Los Angeles. Elaine’s unique interpretations bridge modern standards and vintage vocal classics, melding a chameleon-like vocal flexibility with deep emotional storytelling to captivate both jazz aficionados and new audiences.
