About this event
The Glove Academy Presents: The Necklace, an original, musical adaptation of the classic short story by Guy de Maupassant.
Mathilde was "born for better things", but married a civil servant at the Ministry of Education. Her doting husband secures them an invitation to a classy, society ball, but Mathilde needs to be the classiest one there, buying a new dress and borrowing the ill-fated necklace from her haughty, rich friend, Jeanne. When the necklace goes missing, how will Mathilde and her doting husband make due?! This seminal work by French author, Guy de Maupassant, is a masterclass in class-critique and dark comedy, brought to life for the musical stage by the Youth of Fulton County...and beyond!
