Friday, August 21st at 7:30 PM
"In the temple of cinema there are images, light and reality. Sergei Parajanov was the master of that temple." - Jean-Luc Godard
Join South Philly Autonomous Cinema and Butcher's Sew Shop as we continue our series of fashion and film! Often ranked in critics' Top Ten lists, The Color of Pomegranates follows the life of 18th-century Armenian poet Sayat-Nova. Censored by Soviet officials, persecuted under anti-homosexual regimes, and recreated by Madonna and Lady Gaga alike, Parajanov's film is a rich, lyrical, and iconic piece of visual art.
Butcher's Sew Shop is located at 800 S 8th St. The building has one step at the entrance and several steps to access the bathroom. If you will need wheelchair access, please DM us on Instagram @cinema_philly.
