Life of Riley

A special community celebration, The Life of Riley fundraiser, will take place on Friday, August 7 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Port Charlotte. Tickets are now on sale through https://ticketstripe.com/lifeofriley2026

There will be something for everyone, music, dancing, and a "Roast of Riley" along with a few surprises. A huge thank‑you to Leroy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar for graciously donating all catering for the event. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and community spirit. 

This meaningful evening will raise funds for the Back Pack Kidz program in addition to paying tribute to Charlotte County’s own, Mike Riley, honoring his extraordinary impact on our community over the past 46 years.

Whether you call him "Coach", "Mr. Riley," "Mike," or simply "Riley" he answers to all and is also known to many, as the founder and longtime leader of the ten‑piece Rock and Soul Revue, The Boogiemen, a group he formed that has performed throughout Charlotte County for 36 years. The band has generously donated its time and talent to support nearly every nonprofit organization including; Totaling 185 charity events to benefit children, Veterans and Nonprofits.

Mike Riley truly exemplifies unwavering service to others, and this fundraising event for the Back Pack Kidz program reflects the heart of his commitment and dedication to lifting up children and families in our community.

This Event is sponsored by Peace River Rotary Club.  Riley was a charter member of the club.  They appreciate the community's  support  for a very worthwhile group, under the leadership of Kim Devine.       The Backpack kidz are helping to ease hunger for students here in Charlotte County... One backpack at a time.
