The Limeliters play a concert of folk songs on Wednesday, September 30, at 7:30 PM, in a Woods Hole living room.

Ticket holders will get a "concert info" email detailing the show's location, and other extremely important information about the concert, about 24 hours before the show.

Yes, the original Limeliters, the band founded in 1959, in the era of the Kingston Trio and The Weavers, will favor our little village by the sea for a night of three-part folk harmonies, witty repartee, and familiar songs like, "Wabash Cannonball," "City of New Orleans," and "Lonesome Traveler."

The three original Limeliters - Lou Gottlieb, Alex Hassilev, and Glenn Yarbrough - have left the stage, but like the Ship of Theseus, which remained the same vessel even after every rib and plank had been replaced multiple times, the very same Limeliter trio continues its voyage.

The current Limeliters crew is Daniel Boling (guitar, banjo), Steve Brooks (mandolin, guitar), and Andy Corwin (bass).

Corwin is the link to the past - he's the only member to have performed with original Limeliters Alex Hassilev and Glenn Yarbrough.

Steve Brooks is a classic Texas troubadour whose songs have been recorded by Slaid Cleaves, Christine Albert and Russell Crowe. He's a six-time World Pun Champion.

Daniel Boling is my link to the Limeliters. A few years ago I was in the audience for an absolutely charming, disarming solo house concert Dan'l did in the Texas hill country. Every song he did made me smile, and one or two had me weeping as well. I learned a love song he did at that show, wrote a couple of new verses (too personal for public consumption) to sing to Paula for Valentine's Day. When I invited Dan'l to play in our Woods Hole concert series, I was delighted to get the rest of the band too!

A 2021 review notes that, "for over fifty years, the Limeliters [have] entertained standing-room-only crowds with their incredible musical talent and zany sense of humor...[and]... with different configurations over the years, the group has preserved their signature vocal sound and [are] still regarded as one of the most exciting and entertaining vocal acts touring the country."

In a recent interview, Limeliter Andy Corwin said that the Limeliter's vocal harmonies and sense of humor has not changed, and live performances were like a party to which the audience was invited. He noted that "we do this because we love it and love passing the music on . . . "
