Musicians Wrestle Everywhere! (Oakland)

Composers have always loved exploring their art’s range of expression: from birdsong to lamentations, from hunters’ horn calls to the music of the spheres, and from crickets to the blast of Gabriel’s trumpet. We’ll offer a sampling of this diverse and beautiful cacophony—and hear what composers themselves have to say about music. Works by Carter, Hassler, Britten, Goudimel, Ligeti, Mendelssohn, Parker, Vaughan Williams, and our Composers-in and Not-in-Residence.
