About this event
What is the Milky Way made of? It’s not milk chocolate, caramel, and creamy nougat! Explore the contents, structure, and history of our home galaxy with amateur astronomer Jim Hahn. Hmm…if there were a treat at this program, what would it be? If the sky is clear at the end of the program we will get the chance to look out of the telescopes!
This program will be led by Jim Hahn. Jim is a lifelong amateur astronomer and science enthusiast. He got his first telescope and learned the constellations at the age of 8, built his own telescope at 15, and has been an informal astronomy educator for several years, giving presentations at local nature centers and schools. Jim is an active member of the Northern Cross Science Foundation, a local astronomy club focused on public outreach, and stays current by reading books and periodicals on the subject, both in print and online.
