About this event
Shakespeare's Comedies & Clowns: A night of laughs and learning with Page Clements & Co.
Our lively company -- members of EAG, The Rehearsal Club, and Shakespeare Alive -- led by the multi-talented, Page Clements, invite you to explore Shakespeare's mischievous spirit in both comedy and drama! You’ll discover how the Bard’s clever wordplay and outrageous characters translate into modern, crowd‑pleasing performances.
Whether you’re a seasoned actor, a curious newcomer, or simply someone who loves a good laugh, you’ll leave with fresh insights, practical tools, and a renewed appreciation for the joyous side of Shakespeare. Bring your curiosity, your sense of humor, and get ready to experience Shakespeare like never before!
Page Clements (Director). Recent directing credits include Alan Tongret’s The Lost Acres, Alice Jankell’s The Sweet Spot, Lucy Avery Brooke’s Ekphrasis, Blood and Water, by Rachel Brill, and EAG Council member Cynthia Shaw's Velvet Determination, which received the Best Festival Debut Award in the United Solo Artists Festival. Page’s many productions as vocal/accent coach include Ted Greenberg's one-man show, Ace, in its 5-week Off-Broadway run and the film, Art Thief, streaming on Prime. Her training earned her a BFA and the Wesleyan Woman of the Year award from Wesleyan College in Georgia, followed by the Lawrence Langner Award for speech and the Charles Jehlinger Award for acting from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/NY. She was a Reader’s Choice Winner in Backstage as a vocal and dialect coach and performed in over 60 productions in the tri-state and PA areas. You may see her in a soon to be released feature film and hear her VO in Mr. & Mrs. Murder, streaming on Hulu/ABC. She is a vocal, dialect, and Shakespeare instructor at the T. Schreiber Acting Studio, where she has taught for 23 years. Many thanks to Denise! www.pageclements.com.

Directions: The Episcopal Actors’ Guild (EAG)/Guild Hall is located at 1 EAST 29th STREET, NYC 10016 (midblock between Madison and Fifth, between #3 and #9 East 29th Street) on the second floor of the Church of the Transfiguration (aka the Little Church Around the Corner). We are NOT the big church on the corner of Fifth Avenue; that's Marble Collegiate. When you arrive at the Little Church, enter through the main gate and go through the garden to the door marked Guild Hall (between the main doors into the church and the door to the parish office).
Parking: Due to ongoing construction to replace a city water main, there is currently no on-street parking available on East 29th Street between Madison and Fifth Avenues. The two closest parking garages are located across the street at 10 East 29th Street and around the block at 10 East 30th Street.
Getting Here: The closest subways are the R/W or 6 at 28th Street or the B/D/F/M or N/Q/R/W at 34th Street/Herald Square. If you are arriving by bus, take the M1, M2, M3, M5, M6, or M7.
Lobby: Guild Hall does NOT have a lobby or waiting area. You are welcome to enjoy the Little Church’s garden (weather permitting) if you arrive before the house opens.
Accessibility: Guild Hall is not a fully ADA-compliant venue. However, we do our best to accommodate all patrons. Guild Hall is located up one flight of stairs (20 steps). There is no elevator; however, a stair chair is available for those who need assistance making it up to or down from Guild Hall. EAG’s staff will be happy to assist you upon request.
Late seating: We cannot guarantee late seating.
EAG's Health & Safety Rules: Masks are strongly recommended but no longer required in Guild Hall. Please stay home if you are sick or if you have tested positive for covid, the flu, RSV, etc.. For more details, please visit www.actorsguild.org/covid-safety-protocols.
EAG's Code of Conduct: EAG strives for a safe and welcoming environment for all people entering Guild Hall or engaging with EAG’s programs. To view our Code of Conduct in full, please visit www.actorsguild.org/coc.
