How Can We Help?

How to create and manage recurring events

Recurring events are helpful when you are hosting the same event multiple times and only the dates or times change. Instead of creating each event from scratch, you can add a recurring schedule that tells Ticketstripe when to create each event in the series.

When to Use a Recurring Schedule

Use a recurring schedule when the event details stay the same across multiple dates.

Think of each recurring schedule as a template. The schedule tells Ticketstripe which dates and times to add to your recurring event series.

Recurrent Event Details

All events in a recurring series have the same basic event details and settings, including:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Event image
  • Tickets
  • Donations

For example, if a ticket quantity is set to 100, each event in the recurring schedule can sell up to 100 tickets. Capacity works the same way and is applied per event.

Attendees can view your recurring events via a shared event link or your organizer’s page. You can also embed your upcoming events list on your website.

Adding a Recurring Schedule

When adding a recurring event, you can choose how often the event repeats:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Once

Not every event lineup may fit into one recurring schedule. If your event has dates that follow different patterns, you can add multiple schedules to the same recurring series.

Example: Weekly Saturday Events

Let’s say your event takes place every Saturday for the next six months.

Once your event is created, you would add a recurring schedule like this:

  1. Select Your EventScheduleAdd Recurring Event
  2. Choose Weekly
  3. Select Saturday
  4. Choose the starting date and time
  5. Choose the ending date and time

Ticketstripe will then create each Saturday event based on that schedule.

Example: Additional Monthly Event

Now, let’s say you also want to add an event on the first Thursday of each of the next three months.

Since this date pattern is different from your Saturday schedule, you can add another schedule.

For each Thursday event:

  1. Select ScheduleAdd Recurring Event
  2. Choose Once
  3. Select the event date and time
  4. Repeat this process for each additional Thursday event

You can use the Once option for any event date that does not fit into a daily or weekly schedule.

Editing or Removing an Event in a Recurring Series

If you need to change the date or time of an event in your recurring series, or remove an event from the schedule, you can do so directly in the schedule.

To edit or delete an individual event:

  1. Open the event schedule
  2. Review the list of upcoming events
  3. Find the event you want to update
  4. Click the settings gear
  5. Edit the event schedule or delete the event

The schedule view shows upcoming events in the recurring series.

Your event overview page shows all events, including past events.

Additional Details about Recurring Events

Discounts are applied to the recurring series, not to individual events within the series.

Tickets and donations for each recurring event are relevant to that individual event’s start or end date. For example, if ticket sales are set to end before the event starts, that timing is calculated separately for each event in the series.
