Help attendees claim tickets at events

The following information will guide check-in staff on how to assist attendees claim their tickets at the event.

Scenario 1: Attendee Has an Unclaimed Ticket Without a Barcode

When organizers create ticket bundles (sponsor/table tickets) with “Claiming Required” enabled, bundled tickets will not display barcodes unless the ticket is claimed by the attendee.

What you’ll see: A ticket without a scannable barcode

Solution:

  1. Direct the attendee to claim their ticket using the instructions on their ticket:
    • Visit: https://ticketstripe.com/claim
    • Enter the claim code on their ticket (example: 42028-72032)
  2. Event day preparation tips:
    • Print a QR code linking to https://ticketstripe.com/claim for easy access
    • Have a tablet or phone available with the claim page bookmarked for attendees without mobile devices
  3. Once claimed, the ticket will immediately generate a barcode for scanning

Scenario 2: Attendee Has an Unclaimed Ticket With a Barcode

When “Claiming” is not required by the organizer or an individual ticket was shared, attendees can present with scannable, unclaimed tickets.

What you’ll see: A ticket with a barcode that displays the sponsor’s information instead of the attendee’s

Solution: To collect information from that attendee

  • Log in to the TicketStripe web app via a browser with Event Administrator or Owner credentials
  • Navigate to Event → Orders
  • Search for the name shown on the ticket
  • Select an individual ticket in that order
  • Click the gear icon to enter the attendee’s information
  • Toggle “Checked-In” to check in the attendee

Use this same process to collect information from an attendee who does not have a ticket but provides the name of the buyer who invited them. This is a rare occurrence and will only be relevant to a few event types.
