Why assign custom questions to specific tickets

When you assign a question only to the specific tickets it applies to, you create a smoother checkout experience, especially for the sponsors and table buyers who purchase bundles.

Making a question ticket-specific helps ensure the question is asked only for the ticket types you choose, rather than for every ticket type at checkout.

Relevant custom questions should be assigned to tickets included inside the bundle, not the bundle itself.

How to assign a question to specific tickets

  • Go to Order Form → Fields and open the question you want to adjust, or add a new one.
  • Select the Ask this question for specific ticket types option.
  • Select the individual ticket types the question applies to.
  • Include the individual tickets that are in your bundles.
  • Leave your bundles (such as sponsor and table packages) unselected.
  • Save your changes.

Example

Say your event is selling the following tickets:

  • General Admission individual ticket
  • Table for 8 bundle, which includes 8 General Admission tickets
  • Sponsor bundle, which includes 10 General Admission tickets

The recommended setup for a Meal Preference question is:

  • Select Ask this question for specific ticket types.
  • Select General Admission, the individual ticket that is included in your bundles.
  • Select any other individual tickets the question applies to.
  • Leave the Sponsor and Table bundles unselected.

With this setup, your Sponsor and Table buyers move through checkout without being asked the meal preference question, and you still collect a meal preference from each guest when they claim their ticket.
