How to issue comped (complimentary) tickets
TicketStripe supports three ways to issue comped (complimentary) tickets. Choose the one that best matches your needs:
1. Coupons
Use discount codes when you want guests to self-serve their complimentary tickets at checkout.
- Create a coupon
- Go to Promote → Discounts in your dashboard.
- Click Add Discount and set your parameters:
- Code (e.g. VOLUNTEER25)
- Applies to specific ticket types
- Discount fixed amount or percentage (e.g. 100%)
- Redemption limits (number of discount uses)
- Share the code
Distribute the coupon via email, social media, or embed it in your own promotions. - Redemption
Attendees enter the code at checkout; the ticket price is automatically reduced.

3. Manual (Comped) Orders
Enter comped tickets on behalf of guests—ideal for one-off or VIP requests. Manual orders let you fully control who receives tickets without any online redemption steps.
- Click Create Order
Navigate to Orders → Create Order in your event’s dashboard. - Select ticket(s) & quantity
- Enter attendee info (Name, email, etc.)
- Choose “Complimentary” as the payment method.
- Send confirmation
Check Send confirmation email to automatically email tickets and receipt. - Record the order
